Sitting through my sports sicence lectures many moons agin and wondering about the link between testosterone and muscle mass, I came up with a (probably rubbish) idea. Now, the ethics committee at university would never have let me carry this through as a PhD, but I'm curious as to the benefits of watching 'adult entertainment' before, during and after weight training.
Now aside from the obvious jibes about upper body strength, improved grip and whatnot, there is a (reasonably) serious thought behind this: a condition of arousal involves the augmented circulation of testosterone, which is also useful in packing on the muscle (generalisations notwithstanding).
So I have always wanted to conduct a test to see whether watching late night telly whilst weight training can improve the rate of muscle mass gain.
The theory is somewhat ropey, but I thought it would be funny as hell to try.
