I used Memtest86 to test my ram.

I have 2 kits of 2x1gb (4Gig total)

Anyway, one stick from each kit tested dodgy. So RMA'd it all

I get back, 'one new kit' and '2 of my old sticks'

Now from my tests, that would say that they took the one good one from each set and pair them up and send a new set.

Anyway, just testing the new stuff and one of my old sticks is dodgy, one of the new ones is dodgy, my other old one jsut tested ok and testing the new one now!!!

Mobo must be ok as testing all in the same slot and some tests ok!

Is this memtest accurate, is the ram really crap, they surely tested it ok??

You can usually swear by memtest from my experience and i know a lot of computer techhies who do system testing use it as there primary memory testing tool. Look out for the errors on tests 5 & 6 of memtest as these put the ram under most stress if it's failing there RMA it all and consider getting different ram.

tbh, I had 4gig cause I was using vista 64, but now I have reveretd back to XP and 2 gig is fine. I have two sticks that work. So will RMA the other 2 and get a refund.

It fails on 5 and 6!! Not bad, 6 sticks of ram and two good ones at the end of the day!

Its got a 5 year manufacture warranty, so if these other two do fail, I hopefully will be covered!!
