Hi, ok so I'm still waiting for my parts to arrive so in the mean time I want to ask a few questions.

After I have built the system and installed the operating system how do I check that everything is working as it should?
How to make sure the CPU temps are correct?

The motherboard I am using is a asus p8p67 pro and I think I will need to update the BIOS to the latest. Is this the first thing I should do?

I'm confident I can build the system but I just need to make sure everything is working correctly.

It's a sandy bridge build

I7 2600k
Asus p8p67 pro
Gtx 580
Noctua nh-d14

:)

1.The SB CPUs don't have any temp reading errors if thats what you mean. And as for "ok" temps just make sure if you overclock that they stay below 70-80*C tops.

2.IMO you should do the BIOS flash as it could improve stability with certain configs, overclocks , etc.

3.Just use benchmarking apps like Vantage for GPU and Prime95 for CPU & RAM to test for stability and also play some games to test the rig.
