Testing suggestions for NVMe

Would somebody be kind to suggest which test are safe and suggested (data hoarder purposes) to do on new NVMe products and for example HDD Sentinel?

I have been testing new HDDs (2.5 & 3.5) with the following tests:
short, extended, reinitialize + read (OR Read write + read) and I would also do a full format while monitoring SMART.

This was done for purpose of initial rough testing to eliminate any hidden errors, premature failure and slight peace of mind for archive purposes.

What I am asking is it safe to do complex write read tests of the complete NVMe memory, due to controller and wear level and what would a person obsessed with these kind of details suggest.

New ssds or nvme m2 drives
Before putting important stuff on them
I copy and paste 100gb of mixed file types/sizes
To and from them
If that works OK
Then I do a secure erase on it
Not to be confused with hdd secure erase where you overwrite
The whole drive multiple times
Solid state drives a secure erase is literally seconds
Sends a voltage spike to the nand
And factory resets it basically
Some motherboards you can do it in the bios
But I usually just use parted magic
It's got a great ssd/m2 secure erase tool
Actually does the job as I have tried to recover data
From drives I was going to sell
Tested corsair secure erase in the past and data was recoverable
Not sure if they fixed that now

I would question whether it is a good idea to test them at all!
Of the SSD's I have had fail, only one showed up anything on tests prior to failure. I think the reason for this is that the most likely element to fail is not the actual storage but the supporting chips.
