I cannot see the point in testing outside a case only to disassemble and then put it inside a case.
Build it up inside a case, put some tissue around all of the joints, jump start the pump only, check for leaks over a period of 1 hour or so (it usually takes at least this long to bleed fully anyway). If you find no leaks then you're good to go imo.
