text before domain name?

how do i do this? im assuming that its a free thing that you can do with your domain and can do as many as you want?

It's called a subdomain and support and numbers varies host to host.

It's called a subdomain, if you have hosting with some sort software based control panel such as CPanel you can add them there.

just one of those small silly things that i have never had to learn.

tbh i thought a sub domain was like: www.google.co.uk/"thispart"

If I am not wrong, that's a subdomain as well.

see im not the only one. It's just one of those things that because its not required to do things like webbuilding, you will only ever know it if you come across it, and i hadn't until now

Domians work from right to left

ie

www.overclockers.co.uk

the Top Level Domain is .uk
then .co
then .overclockers

If you wish subdomains they go before the overclockers.co.uk

as in

www.forums.overclockers.co.uk

PS it is also possible to not evben use the www and just enter address as

http://overclockers.co.uk or even just overclokcers.co.uk
