im going away tomorrow and was just wondering how much it is to text from abroad. my feeling is 50p

Ring your service provider, tell them the country your going to and they will give you the rates.
When my sister was away recently different countries had different prices for me to text her, so I would presume it would be the same for someone the other way round :)
 
cheers guys. last time i went away it was something like 49p. just wondering if it had gone down (well hoping) im on o2.
theres always payphones anyway...or just not contacting anyone at all.
 
If you have an O2 online sim and have topped up recently, or your on contract, then they will come out of your free text allowance. They use 3 or 4 per text.
