TF2 gone free to play

People can simply make brand new accounts with the sole purpose being to hack in TF2 without the risk of losing access to their games when they're VAC banned. They can just make another account and get it free again!

People who make new accounts constantly will be useless anyway. Join server, cheat for 2 min, ban, gone. Standard accounts cant have new items, hats, cant have nothing but standard stuff unless you go premium (buy anything of any price and quantity from mann co store)
However, even the cheaters get slapped around from time to time. We had a cheating engineer play against us where he could build unlimited turrets. Two of my mates would uber and take his attention while I'd come up behind, kill the engineer and sap all his turrets. He got so angry that he had to keep rebuilding it that he quit. I've seen cheaters of every single class and there's always a way to counter them if you're clever enough.

And that us why it's called TEAM fortress 2, the many, working together will always beat the one, even if he is a cheater! For example, aim bot sniper? Everyone goes spy, his team go pyro and flame his view! Soon gets rid of the scummy cheater pants.

Avoid servers like sains.de servers. They aren't cheater servers, but the game is heavily tweaked, it's more like quake 3
Yeah I was trying to use Spy mostly the last time I decided to get into the game. Gets frustrating so easily though.

I'm afraid I'm yet to play against a generous side where a cheater's own team members turn against him. Idiots will scream blue murder if they play against a cheater, but would kiss his feet if he plays on their side.
Anyway, a sniper cheater is worthless as he'll get a knife in his back every 3 seconds so he soon gives up. A good pyro cheater is the toughest to play against but usually we get the whole team to go after him, game objectives be damned. Frustrate them enough and they soon leave. Then again, it's so rare I see cheaters that it's hardly worth worrying about. Admin kicks them 90% of the time before we even notice he's a cheater.
If it was an aimbot it would make no difference.
Really depends tbh. I can only think of 3 classes that would get a major benefit from the sort of aimbot that auto-corrects to account for recoil so every shot hit. That would be the Spy wielding an Ambassador as he could get crit headshots every time he fired, a Sniper doing no/quick scopes and hitting the head every time and the Heavy with a Minigun for obvious reason.
VAC Bans are time delayed though, a couple of weeks usually, I believe. Meaning they only need to make new accounts every so often.
That said, Valve could well simply speed up the time taken to ban hackers on TF2 now to counter this.
There are some servers out there like this which gives what are essentially cheats to people who donate. From the saigns donate page:
Whenever I join a server and they mention donation options/VIP, I always check what it is they are offering. 99% of servers this is either hats, text colour changes and join priority/kick immunity with full servers. Nothing wrong with this, but if they give any gameplay advantage, hit the blacklist button.
I thought the 'time till ban' was reduced to a few days with MW2?
Ah that was the server that I had to blacklist the last time I was on I think. I suspect the only reason public people play that server is because they don't know just how stupid the premium boosts are.
Maybe it was, I don't know. They can probably change a per-game setting so they can alter the ban times depending on the volume of hackers. If there's a sudden influx they can crank the time down to days (or even less) to just clear them out of the way, then when everyone gets bored they push it back again so it can work as intended and stop people knowing which hacks are detectable.
I wouldn't like to be someone working in VAC right now though, they're going to get so much flack no matter what they do.
Are you completely up to date? Restart Steam and then Launch TF2, should begin to download an update
Mine was doing that yesterday, setting the filters to Europe seemed to speed it up today.
Completely up-to date. Just got rid of the steam beta update and it appears to be finding servers now, but all of them have awful pings of 130 min :S
