Was just in a server tonight and we had a guy as sniper just standing out in the open picking people off with the sniper rifle, consistant headshots. Was like the rifle was fully powered for each shot even though some of the kills amounted to 2-3 kills in the space of 2 seconds. Then he switches to scout and ends up charging around the place headshotting everyone with a pistol. Think he ended up with a score around 300 or more after 2 rounds of 2fort.

Him and another noob wafling on about how good the "framework" is.

Ended up speccing him and it was the usual story with a hack of their pov in spec mode shaking all over the place...Why the hell do people bother?

"elite_pwnzall" and some other saddo with the name of bravo, the tag of course was =1337= .

I haven't played that game but I don't really understand cheating.

I can't see why anyone would enjoy that empty feeling of dominating games - knowing you only could because you cheated.

Shame is, the people who actually play the game right and spend a good bit of time on it (whatever it may be) get accused of cheating themselves if they're anywhere near half decent.

Well when it's blatantly obvious and make you resort to stalking them in spectator mode, they're the ones that are made looking the ass if they even hint at bragging.

Oh and, you don't need full charge for an insta-kill headshot, minimum power is enough for the 'light' (125hp max) classes, maybe the medic too. It's the Soldiers and Heavies you need to steady your shot up for :D

EDIT: Quick google for 'tf2 framework' results in nearly the entire first page mentioning hacks, some screenshots of it in use too it seems so you can see how it works.

Problem is vac doesn't seem to do a damn thing to ban these cheats, this kind of thing has been around for css for ages now. =/

if their advertising the hack then their probably getting paid for it/possibly the makers.

why do they always put some crap rap music in their vids?

It is the main reason why I quit the game. I noticed it being used towards the end of November last year on one of my most popular 32 player servers. I just left in disgust. I never saw it being used on our server but now most of my clan have quit the game :/ VAC did sod all.

The problem with VAC is that from a non-cheaters point of view it LOOKS like it is doing nothing.

VAC will NEVER kick/ban a player when it detects them cheating. And so it ALWAYS looks like the player has 'got away' with cheating.

VAC bans occur days/weeks AFTER the cheat was detected - the reason Valve/Steam operate this delayed ban is so that it is hard for cheat makers to 'test' cheats and know if they are detected or not. Unfortunately this method means that a cheater can play for days/weeks with even the most basic cheat, that VAC detects - but he can carry on playing during that time until the delayed ban kicks in.

But yeah, there do seem to be quite a few cheats the VAC doesn't detect as well.

sadly i don't think we'll ever see a hack-proof online game, i would'nt let it put you off an otherwise fantastic fun fps. I've yet to notice and hackers during my tf2 gametime but no doubt they are out there as with any source related game. Try to stick to the same servers that you have fun on, usually clan servers with active admin who can monitor and kick/ban cheats swiftly.

Not sure if I'm just being naive but I've never noticed someone cheating. Or never felt that someone was cheating in game.

Don't see the point. Its a bit like stealing from yourself.

Jaffa, the maximum sig length is 4 lines, yours is 9 :P

Quick, 'fore the sig police notice ;)

Problem with screenshots and demos is that you can't 100% verify the server it happened on, unlike VAC which keeps records of all incidents/infringements.

However individual server owners/admins will be less forgiving and will most likely recognise it being their server if you gave them enough proof along with the cheater.

Shame is, the people who actually play the game right and spend a good bit of time on it (whatever it may be) get accused of cheating themselves if they're anywhere near half decent.

Theres nothing shameful about that.

I take it as a compliment. They are just too stupid to tell the difference between a good player and someone hacking.

Try steambans

www.steambans.com

You send properly submitted emos to them, they review the evidence and then may permanently ban them from any server running their plugins. Dont think it works for TF2, culd be wrong though.
