TF2 how to record demos?

Is there away you can record demos in TF2 without using fraps and if you can how do you play them back. I want to make a tf2 movie but i dont want fraps lagging the game while playing.

Just type in record demoname in the console, then to stop the demo just type stop.

To play it back just type playdemo demoname

Best to search on the steam forums. You'll find some really good threads for how to get the best quality videos out of it.
