TF2 server anyone interested?

Hi,

I ran an ocuk server for tf2 several years ago and been getting into the game recently, is there enough interest for me to warrant buying another server?


Seems a lot of OCUK plays all over the place atm.
 
I'd be interested - can't play a huge amount, but would be nice to have somewhere with a bit of community behind it.
 
I think somebody is running an ocuk server, but it never seems to have anybody on it when check my server list.

I ran a server when the beta tf2 was launched called naked gaming ninjas, it lasted a year but then i had a great idea about moving to cod4, which sucked.

Should have stayed with tf2, then I think I ran an ocuk branded server...
 
We have an OcUK TF2 server: 94.23.222.136:27036

It's usually always empty (the fate of all new TF2 servers), but it fills up when we organise games on the Steam Group. I'll set one up for tonight if people are interested.

Jumping on the server would be massively appreciated.
 
yo loyn can the server be rebooted? it feels laggy.

Can I help out with admin and making a go of it?

Can I setup sourcemod?

Can I/we change the map rotation to a handfull of popular maps to try get people on the server?

Odd really, original tf2 server was jammed every night, then in the space of a week it just died.

Think playing against those gobby asshats from another forum didn't help with the vibe.

im getting back into tf2 recently (met oxy while playing tother day) <3

i wouldnt mind offering any help or rallying people together to play, just slap me on steam :)
 
@ Oxy: Just so that you know, Sourcemod is already installed on there you just need admin setup (I'll need your steam_id number for that). I can give you rcon access aswell if you want to be able to restart the server and keep an eye on it through hlsw.

As far as map rotation goes, just give me a list and I'll set it up. :)

@Everyone: I'm thinking of altering the branding of some of my servers to just [TL] (TartLink) or [LT] (LinkTart) in future as I'm gonna try and get more users on them from other forums, but they'll still be accessible and admined by ocuk members.

Let me know how many slots you think the server should have, many people suggested 24 slots to me, but unlike a lot of game server people, I can alter my slots at will as long as it's a sensible number.

Also I will be revising server admins soon so removing admins that don't use the server anymore and adding some trustworthy players that do, so if you are a regular and are interested then let me know. :)
 
Added the server to my favs, will jump on if I see people playing :).


I'd echo the 24 slot recommendation, anything above gets too spammy, although you can always apply the idea of less is more. Kind of new around here but will show my face around and if you want me, I know my way around servers and sourcemod :).
