silly question, not played much TF 2 for a while. How do you get all these new weapons.

I'm awful with the huntsman - any tips?
Just aim where they are coming from, try anticipate shots if someones ducked into cover wait like a second then fire a shot, they may come back out and meet an arrow to the face. Things like that, aim down corridors etc.
Best used on payload maps i find.
Started playing more TF2 over past few weeks and must say that I actually prefer the huntsman now.
Seems like such an easy weapon; charge up to full power - aim just above the person's head; try to anticipate movement and fire - gives me so many headshots.
Usually manage 8ish kills per life; plus about another 8 assists with the huntsman/jarate combo - while often being one of the most "forward" players on my team (I hate camping).
Works wonders on attacking heavies; pyros that try to rush you round a corner; and scouts and spies who try to take you from behind.
Still find it impossible to hit a scout running around though. But I love seeing a pyro run towards me; throw a jarate at him; hide behind a corner - as he rounds the corner headshot with huntsman
Out sniping a sniper with a rifle is hard though; tend to just pop round the corner and fire the huntsman "roughly" in the direction they are in and hope.

If used in the right situations it's a perfect weapon. Mid range maps are great with it. I only really started loving it yesterday oddly enough though I'd always found it fun and quirky.
Yesterday though on the custom tug of war cart style map (cant remember the name of it, it just got a great update) I joined the server, decided why not, grabbed the huntsman, ran out and killed 6 of the 8 players on the other side in the space of less then a minute. After that I was hooked. It just needs some practice but yes I do believe the headshot hitbox is more lenient for it then the sniper rifle. Saw an arrow clearly miss by several inches and I still got the headshot though that could have been lag either.

Depends on the map, what team you are on and the state of play really.
Personally I'm not a huge fan of it, but will soemtimes select it if I am defending and its a smallish map with a few bottlenecks. Spam arrows and kill people ***. Not really a lot of skill and headshots are pure luck 100% of the time.

I found it to be a kind of "weight training on jupiter" tool...
Used it as soon as I unlocked it for a couple of weeks. Randomly decided to switch back to the proper rifle and my headshot rate was about 140% and I dominated everybody on the server (even those on my team) and several surrounding servers relentlessly.
Maybe I exagerrated a bit but I noticed a considerable improvement with my sniping when I changed back to rifle, came top of loads of difficult games being sniper from the start.
