Thank god my car is pre 2001 (Car Tax changes)

Oh no, he will have to buy a family saloon which, guess what, will be in the stupid tax bracket.
Attitudes will change then;)

Or a 4x4.

I know it's not directly related to parlimentary politics, but I really hope labour get a damn good whipping today. Hopfully make the people at the top relise that the little people arn't happy about being squeezed for all we're worth.

I've always felt Car Tax is highly in inefficient and since we now have computised systems that let police check for the presence of an MOT and insurance it's now pointless.

I don't think I want to know how much of the cost of a disc goes into car tax administration. I did hear one of their recent schemes for reduce evasion cost three times the amount of money it recovered.

Thing is Kami,

I can tell that the cost of car tax is a big issue to you and it was somthing you obviousely considered when you bought your car.

Surely then you can understand that it's grossely unfair for the government to change the prices for existing cars. If someone decides that they could justify £200 a year to tax then it's unfair that it doubles.

It's fairer to apply it just to new cars, so they only people effected know about when they choose a car.
