Thank you everyone for the help over the past 3-4 weeks my build is now complete, i will upgrade the motherboard memory and add an SSD at a later date and eventually the graphics card, but im quite happy with the result.

CPU idle temp - 34 degrees
GPU idle temp 39 degrees under load 59 degrees playing BF3 1920x1080p high/ultra
again thanks for all the tips and here are some photos of it
please bear in mind it is my first build =( ive done moderate cable managment at the rear of the case but it is still a bit messy!
