Following a guide on here I managed to buy a Rocket blower and clean my sensor on my 350D. No more massive dust spot in the viewfinder, and saved a pretty penny.

Thanks OCUK. :D

Hehe, grats :p
Although dust on the sensor won't show in the viewfinder, that's dust on the mirror - which probably would also have been knocked off anyway :D
/pedant

Now clean mine ;( :p

Well I bought a bulb blower thing and it spat filth all over my sensor, complete arse up
Is there something I'm missing?
It also came with a brush on the end which wasn't helpful...

Ah thought the viewfinder spot would not be dust on the sensor. Ah well they are both clean now. :)

But it's exactly the same thing (after I removed the brush), just not shaped like a rocket. And secondly, how the hell do you hold the camera and use the blower with any kind of accuracy!

Will try to find it for you now. :)

Run the hot tap for 5 mins in the bathroom with the windows and door closed. Get it nice n steamy (this will cause the floating dust to become heavy and fall to the floor) Let the steam clear and go in there with your camera and turn it mount down and insert rocket blower and give it several hard puffs!.. No dusty anymore!

Well I use the camera strap so I do not need to hold the camera at first, then take the lens of the camera making sure the lens opening is facing downwards set the camera to sensor clean. Then pick up blower, blow and that's it.

It may be easier as the 350d is small. :)

Indeed, the 350 is so small I could just let it float in mid air... :p alas I have a D70 :( Heavy blighters.
And it rattles since I dropped it :(
Gah. I quit.

See and people call the 350d for being small, it has its benefits. It's not all about the size you know its what you do with it that counts. ;) :o

It's not the same thing.

Correct - Will clean your sensor with ease.

Incorrect - Will probably damage your sensor.

Hooray for damaged sensors then :(
But in essence they look the same, a chamber of air and a tube it comes out of.
The rocket has some nifty anti-dust valve I read... can't hurt to try, will order one.

I use my rocket to great effect! However before I got hold of this I looked for the older type in a well known high street camera store. I was told they were out of stock as a large batch of them had a defect which meant they were chucking out a load of silicone dust!!!!! Not the type of thing you want on your sensor!!
