It does seem a bit stupid to post a link to a virus on a forum. I don't think anybody can say it's fozzybears fault.

I'm not blaming Fozzy at all - I'm just saying it's not the person who posted it's fault either.

But why post the actual link to a virus BEFORE warning someone NOT to click it? Maybe he should have included something in the thread title to warn people.

By why click it?? It's common sense failure on both your parts.

By your own reasoning you'd have looked at child pornography by following alink before reading the whole post.

It doesn't matter, he posted the link Fozzy decided to follow the link despite warnings, i don't see how it's Freak_boy's fault.

well he could've put the link in slightly wrong, saying it is a link very similar to that, if you see it don't click it. Instead he removed the hand rail from the cliff, and inevitably someone was going to stumble over the edge. It's a shared 'blame' scenario, although I think blame is the wrong word.

I know, see above post :)

As i said, i opened the link in another tab to read after i'd read the rest of the post!

Why click it? The same could be said to 'Why post a link to a virus!'

There are two clear issues here. Firstly, why on earth would someone actually post a hyperlink to a live virus?! That is completely illogical. Secondly, in hindsight it was obviously a mistake to click on the link, however, you should have read the post and context for what the link was.

It’s not for us to say whose fault it was. Let's just live and learn and move on people! :)

Or Yoda :D

I have to agree with the OP tbh, although there were warnings, i'd be pretty hacked off - common sense would have told me to not make the link clickable to make doubly sure no-one followed the link?

*adds to little black book* :D

I'd agree, if the very next sentence didn't contain the warning :)

But as I said in my second post - just put it down to experience!

yea but shouldn't the OP not have posted the link so that you could click on it?
If i posted a link to porn or something and say don't click on it. Does that make it alright?

Well, maybe next he will give the warning BEFORE posting the link.

Or better still, get a brain and don't post the link at all.

If i sound furious, i am. I had anti-virus running but it somehow got through.

Luckily it doesn't seem to be too severe a virus. Here

Right thats my spleen vented. Time for tea! :)

not fozzybears fault tbh.
i probably would have clicked on the link aswel. it seems a little stupid for someone to post a link to a virus on this forum.
