This week I started working on a construction site, building a hospital in Bath. The first three days were spent without a computer, as we waited for IT to get me a network login. Then we realised that two people can be logged in at the same time on one username, so I've had net access, but the company webfilter is rather strict. And there's no internet at the B&B I'm staying at. So for the next 8 weeks its just you guys, the BBC and /. keeping me sane.

Got the first, not the second. Didn't seem worth buying the dongle for just two months :/
Over the weekend I'm planning on getting the bus into Bath (6 miles away). From there, somewhere there must be a starbucks, or another place with open wi-fi access.

starbucks isnt open, they are t-mob hotspots iirc.

find a mcdonalds, most of those have hotspots and are slowly rolling out free access.

Thanks to you, I'm now in MacDonalds. Could be better, but its free wifi, so can't complain, I guess :/

what is speed like? I've always wondered about investing as it would be rather useful, but I'm worried about very slow speeds and poor network area coverage :(

Not too bad, T-Mobile do one that isnt too bad at all! When using it yesterday at a friends, was downloading at 200kb/s which for a dongle isnt too bad.

I just plug in my T-Mobile WnW Phone though, speed is fine!

Yeah, its not directly in bath. Peasedown St John. But Bath is much easier to write and spell, and people know where Bath is ;)

Yeah. Its only been going a few months, I was surprised how fast its coming up.

Its going to be very pretty when its done, at least that's what the pictures look like. And only rich people can get in ¬_¬
