That "burning in smell".

How long is it meant to last? New-ish speakers/Amp...since October or so. Quite heavy usage i guess but not so much "very" loud..just want a bit of reassurance?

NAD C320BEE
B&W 685s.

Volume is 100% on laptop and at it's highest half volume on the Amp but not for longer than 5 minutes..normally at 30-40%.

How are those speakers? I've got the 601s3's, love them, but may sidegrade to the 685's.

I can still smell the newness when I turn them up, and they've had over a year of daily use so far! Is it a smell of newness that your smelling, or a 'burning' smell? If its the latter I'd be turning them down!

Just a new-ish smell..can't describe it really. Doesn't smell like fire or anything.

Amazing speakers..love them to pieces.

Probly just the smell of 'Ozone'.. Did you ever have a Scalextrix or Hornby Trainset??.. if you did is the smell similar to that??....

It usually goes after a good few weeks/months of a run-in!!
