whenever im training, i dont feel hungry, during my 2 month break, i could eat like a horse. now i can barely force down half a sandwich. i was like wtf, im planning on eating 2 of these and i cant do half of 1.

Quick question guys. Im currently supplementing EPA and DHA fish oils (omega fish oil from MyProtein). As i understand, these don't contain omega oils (ALA/LA etc).. so is it worth supplementing both and ordering a bottle of fish oil and some omega oil??

EPA DHA are omega oils, the ALA and LA versions are the plant versions which then need to be converted within the body. The EPA and DHA versions are the most bioavalible

I was in the old thread thinking why the hell can't I post, have I been suspended or something then I saw it was under archive :o

I'm taking my first week off since Sept. It's been a ridiculous period for me. It's been a good year and a big high 5 for all the OcUK'ers here. Good advice and motivation.

Smashed bench. Smashed squats and just before the new year smashed the deadlift.

Ah, and deadlifting 3 times a week did work for me. Once the loads started getting to 90% I had to come off and revert to once a week but boy did I progress quickly in 4 weeks!

Where's nightmare damnit? I know he's plotting something :D

p.s buddy ;) :

This year the following will be achieved raw (in order):

I will run a 6 minute mile.
I will squat 3*BW.
I will bench 1.9*BW.
I will deadlift 3.15*BW

I dont doubt that you will smash those tbh.

RE your question in the other thread, for me having the ass lower means having the bar closer to me when lifting, so the bar comes more vertical. If im too bent over then it would come towards me and up, making the lift longer. But thats me and tbh your lifting is awesome, above most here, so you can do it how the hell you like :P

Some good links there, Freefaller - couldn't really peruse through it today because it's been very busy.

Just got back from the gym and it's not been a very good workout, probably not helped because I've not been feeling 100% and I have had a sore throat all day!

Managed this:

60kg x 10 reps, 80kg x 4 reps, 80kg x 1 rep on Smith Press;
68kg x 10 reps, 82kg x 8 reps and 104kg x 5 reps on Chest Fly Machine;
40kg x 8 reps, 60kg x 5 reps on the Deadlift, + whatever the Olympic Bar Weighs;
40kg x 12 reps and 60kg x 6 reps on Bent over Row + whatever the Olympic Bar Weighs;
7 reps, 4 reps on Full Chin-ups.

Shortly during my sets on the Smith Press my Shoulders started screaming and my triceps too, so they were probably not ready for that shock, this especially became apparent when I got up to 80kg (which was my previous PB) I think my TP got up to 90kg 3-4 weeks ago but he was feeling like crap as well today.

Although doing the Pull-ups didn't hurt my Shoulders, my Triceps weren't too happy. I also managed to jar my back slightly on the dismount, but stretching seems to have alleviated that.

I also found my Dead-Lifts really worked out my Legs - is this bad form? I did feel them a bit in my back, but I felt like I had been squatting!

I think I got a bit cocky on the Dead Lifts and the Bent over Rows, jumping too high a weight, so I'll work my way up next week and hopefully that will help (and hopefully I'll feel more like me!).

Managed to forget shrugs though, so my traps+delts have been neglected once again!

Saturday I'll be doing Squats, I'll try to squeeze in some CV too.

Edit: 79kg/12 stone 66 lbs, 179cm

Good back session today and had my brother there to help push me throuh those last reps.

Enjoyed the supersets on the upright rowing machine, 10 wide grip with 10 close vertical grip. Weird thing was the final 3rd set that I bash out 14 of each with no extra help. Sometimes some loud noises and focus really does work.

Bicep/hammer curling was pathetic, but they don't need that much work anyway being soo small.

T-bar row was great fun today and had plenty of people staring like that had seen it before. Cracking exercise with the olympic bar wedged into the corner of the squat rack. Just make sure not to bend those legs and cheat with a little squat :p

To finish the evening I had x3 scrambled eggs with pepper on freshly made bread (toasted). OM NOM NOM!

Out of interest, what do you mean that you think you over did the weights for deads and BOR? Was it that completing the reps was unusually hard or was it more to do with discomfort (in that you got the reps but that they didn't feel great)?

Also how much do you squat?

OT:A friend of mine from the gym is going to America for a month to train with Eric Cressey. I've got to admit I'm fully jealous, it sounds like it would be a lot of fun. You know getting up at 5:30-6:00 every day for training, only to have to train another two times during the day :D.

Hmm, I'll be honest, I've not done deads for a good 5+ years now (I've been shying away from them too long) BOR I've been doing sporadically over the past few months, last time reaching 55kg, plus whatever the e-z bar weighs.

My TP said my form was okay but everything I did today (not least the BOR and Deads) felt hard. I would say that the reps were unusually hard more than anything, on absolutely everything I did today :(

I do think jumping from 40kg to 60kg wasn't a good idea, in fact the BORs felt easier than the Deads did, which was why I maintained the 20kg increase from the 40 - but then I just felt tired very soon, next time it will be 40, 50, and then 60kg.

Squat wise...heaven knows what my last squat was (I have taken to at least putting my reps and weights in my mobile now) but my TP believes that my PB was 90kg with 6 reps around 1.5-2 months ago, thats on the Smith Machine. My TP managed at least 120kg and 10 reps, also on the Smith; but I go deeper than he does, but he seems to have stronger legs than me.

I hope I'm making sense with this :o

Edit: First time I used the Olympic Bar Today on the Deads and BORs apparently they weigh around 20kg, so that probably had an impact as well on the reps.
