Had a classic in the gym today. Guy was doing bench on the smith, reading a magazine inbetween sets. His shortest rest time was 4 mins. Then he chalked up for 20kg seated dumbell curls. Sweeeeeeet.

Strapping up changes the lift entirely. I actually prefer to deadlift with straps as I can focus more on form and a result of having grip removed from the equation my strapped deadlift is 30-40KG higher than my RAW.

However strapping up will do nothing to improve grip, it'll actually weaken it. Lift RAW till the weight gets too heavy to hold then strap up.

That's odd, just shows how different everyone is.

I never have a problem with grip failing when deadlifting, even though my forearms are relatively small.

Then again I do like to play with my Ultimate Grip grippers when watching a movie, tv or reading.

Managed to get my friend to join up to my gym and today is his first day. Going to get him to do Gordy's 3 day split, starting with legs tonight. He's going to love squatting :D

Just had my first gym session in 8 weeks yesterday. I feel the pain already!

Felt SO weak it's unbelieveable - going to do 2 weeks of full body stuff just to get me back into it.

The time off has done me some good though, i've lost about 10lbs and look leaner - but I don't look as healthy (i.e. my CV health and general hormone releases have dimished), that'll bounce back soon enough I'm sure.

It's going to be a tough couple of weeks!

It's always good to take a break FF.
Good to hear you're getting back into it all.

Just remember, if you struggle get that anabolic wig and eye-patch out.

May I ask why you was off anyway? Or was it just post Christmas syndrome? ;)

That's the thing...No one trains grip because its 'boring' :p

If you hate training your grip solely, you could always do shrugs while training your grip?
This.

Grip training is quick and easy. You don't need grippers (CoC style), just do a couple of sets of static hangs with a LOT of weight on the bar.

Grip isn't my only issue with going heavy on deadlifts, the bar destroys my hands/calluses. I much prefer holding on to the strap material on the bar to prevent this.

It's bloody painful! I quite like training grip actually.

Made the mistake of chalking up for some one arm static hangs from the pull up bars. To find as my grip slipped it felt like someone was peeling the skin of the palms of my hands!

Farmers walks or lunges with plate pinches are another good way to disguise grip training amonst another exercises. Reverse curls with a suicide pronated grip, lateral raises with a suicide pronated grip and hammer curls with a suicide pronated grip. Pritty much everything with a suicide pronated grip, lol

By suicide I mean thumbless.

my grip on right hand is so poor because of hypermobility of the thumb makes almost everything seem like suicide grip lol

I find with suicide grip pull ups, push presses and dumbbell chest presses are much easier.

I like training grip though, nothing like having your forearms so pumped it hurts to open and close your hands.

Branch won the IFBB British Grand Prix this weekend :)

I was supposed to be there, had tickets and everything, but certain family problems over the weekend meant I couldn't make it :(

Seen a few pics of weekend, nothing from the bodybuilding though. Take it branch was still looking great!

Oh hold on a minute!! You better get working those legs, as payment for the jack3d :P

Yeah, knee is just about sorted now, give me 6 months and I'll have somewhat formidable wheels!

Am targetting a 300lb (so like 140ish KG?) squat before my holiday in July :D

What the!!
How on earth did you get over here that fast and back out the doors?!
I was gone for about 2 mins from the time you messaged me!!
