The 2014-15 Betting Thread *Spoilers*

**** it. Rules are made to be broken.

Opened an account and placed the bet with Sportingbet so I get my stake back as a free bet if it loses. Which is highly unlikely, of course.

Well i screwed the pooch yesterday. Was sat in the barbers and put money on Ivory Coast then i spotted a game in the 91st minute which was 2-2 so i threw a pile on under 4 goals.

Both lost. No more money in my pot. Any other available funds are in transit to my bank so no more bets for me till Monday at the earliest :(

Gone for

Italy 2-1, France 1-0 and Ecuador 2-1

Italy 3-1, France 2-1 and Ecuador Honduras 1-1

Italy 2-1, France 2-0 and Ecuador 2-1

Italy 2-1, Switzerland France 1-1 and Ecuador 2-1

Also got just, Italy, France and Ecuador all to win.

Really?...good luck of course, but neither seem likely to me tbh!

Yeah they both need a win so I can see it being an open game.

Ecuador have had a few recent high scoring games:

Ecuador 2-2 England
Mexico 3-1 Ecuador
Australia 3-4 Ecuador

Also, back in November Honduras and Ecuador played each other in a friendly and the score was 2-2.

For any mods reading: if I ever bet on anything positive to happen to England, you have my permission to change my username to something that suitably reflects my naive stupidity.

I have 3 bets left to run and 63p left in the pot. This was my first time betting and will be my last. I have nowhere near the needed level of luck. :D

So just looked at and tallied up the odds history for the World Cup. If you bet £1 on every single game, choosing either the favourites or the outsiders (ignoring the draw and the odds for that) then...

Picking Favourites
Stake: £24
Winnings: £22.64
Loss: £11
P/L: -£9.64

Picking Outsiders
Stake: £24
Winnings: £35.85
Loss: £17
P/L: £18.85

Interesting! Would take some balls to bet £100 on the underdogs from every single game but you'd be sitting on a profit of £1,885 if you had. And of course could/would probably be even more with better odds.

Might start doing that from now on with tenners.

Well, we're half way through as chance would have it so I've gone for it, albeit with a couple of quid.
