The 2014-15 Betting Thread *Spoilers*

I finally had a bit of luck last night.

I curse myself for not putting nil nil on in the Belgium game and then the winnings on them winning, that was obvious. However I took the win at the start, and had a separate bet of 3 cards and over.

Thank god we are back to a game an hour/day. Two games at the same time was disrupting my betting as I couldn't watch both at the same time.

Honestly with the way Spain got done by Chile, and the frankly not so convincing effort from Brazil so far, the odds on Chile are rather high imo. It's very tempting, to take them but you can't ever count out Brazil obviously.
A btts at just over evens is my more likely option, with maybe a +2.5

Uruguay without Suarez is basically a lame horse that needs to meet the glue factory, as Costa Rica proved. Columbia win imo.

Had two doubles come in last night,

Portugal and Germany, cashed out just after Portugal's winner
Belgium and Draw, cashed out at around 85 minutes.

Was gutted I didn't so the accumulator. But still £50 was won!

Agree with that. There could be a few other upsets in the next round. It is hard to judge Belgium as they haven't really been tested yet, but they'll find USA harder to break down and better going forward than anyone they've encountered so far. Altidore could be back for the Americans which (and I never thought I'd say this about Altidore) will be a boost for them.

Holland could also struggle, especially if they play 5-3-2 again. They are pretty rubbish in the final third - except when Robben is counter-attacking, and I can't see Mexico giving them too many opportunities to do that. Mexico will be solid at the back and quick on the break.

For the brave: Chile, Mexico, and USA to win in 90 mins gives odds of around 90/1 (all to qualify is around 28/1).

Van Persie is back for NL though right?

Dutch defense is always a bit of a worry compared to the South American infinite-energy teams, but the attack should be pretty formidable.

It is getting very hard to call these games - we've seen so many shock results you just cannot go on past glory (even if it that was just one match ago!).

A safe bet will be on corners, cards and penalties (within the 90m), guessing the winner is going to be very hard, and even harder still, the score (if it goes to Penalties, do they get added on to the score?).

Just had this email. Absolutely insane level of betting!

Hi Martyn

The World Cup group stages are over, which means our group stage prize for the World Cup Spread Better competition has been won!

Congratulations to Sheriffio for placing enough bets, and getting a 12,290% return, to qualify for the £1,000 group stage prize.

With 16 more games to go, everyone is still in with a chance of winning the £10,000 cash prize.

Coral is my go-to for online bets, however i'm feeling like having a splurge on some matched bets (or 'free' vouchers). I've used WH and Ladbrokes, however is there any more that have decent offers on?

I think Paddypower are doing 3/1 on Brazil to beat Chile for new customers. Although saying that, I think it should be those odds anyway. :D
Crappy max £10 as per usual.
Think Betfair are doing 4/1 on Neymar anytime @£10max

Just a quick head up (I know this is a little obvious but we all get caught up with the betting)

DON'T put any doubles on the game, with a large enough gap between games, and the fact most bookies are refunding no score draws ect, just lump your winnings on the next game!

Only say this as at least 3 of my friends are all on about their doubles today!

The odds will change a lot though and usually go down.

Anyway i got this tonight:

Also means you can pick and choose the best bookie for the second game, although obviously this assumes you have sufficient bankroll to spread across multiple bookies without waiting for withdrawals. As a rule of thumb I try to avoid doing accas involving kickoffs at different times because it is is likely to be inefficient in that it forces you to use the same bookie for all games and it may not necessarily offer the best odds on all games.
