The 2014-15 Betting Thread *Spoilers*

Pretty rubbish to be honest. I only made 14.12 from the fiver stake. Odds were rubbish as they were all heavy favourites. Ajax were 1/100!

Went for over 2.5 total and Schalke win tonight.

I've been trying over 0.5 goals inplay when the game hits around the 70th minute and is still 0-0. Have had two ways I've been doing it:

1. Find 5 (I used 5) games at 0-0 in the 70th minute (ish) and bet the same amount on each game for a goal to be scored. You look for odds of 1.8 (or better) on each game for that goal to be scored. You need 3 out of the 5 games to not be 0-0's and you get a profit.

Good points:
- You don't see that many 0-0's.
- You only need 3/5 to come in to make a profit.
- You still regain some of the original bet unless you encounter 5 0-0's.

Bad points:
- Time consuming waiting for 5 in game 70th minute 0-0's and not for a potential proft.

So far, I've made a small profit out of this (although I have been using 10p bets).

2. A slight variation on the above but with abit of Martingale thrown in. So looking again for 0.5 late goals but with odds of 2/1. If it comes in, great - profit. If not, find another 0-0 and double the initial bet (ie, a 10p intial failing bet at 2/1 becomes a 20p bet at 2/1. If that comes in you get a small profit).

Good points:

- Again, 0-0 is not that common a result.
- Chances to recoup loss made by a failing bet.

Bad points:

- Martingale can turn your bankroll into mush quite quickly if you keep hitting 0-0.
- Time consuming to find the 0-0 again.
- Small profit for potential large sums.

I've found both 1 and 2 to be incrementally positive, but I'm only playing with pennies at the moment.

Please feel free to rip apart my way of playing haha. Quite new to this betting malarky!

If anyone would like to buy some money tomorrow, on 365, (Utd v palace) Manchester United over 0.5 cards comes in @1.44.

Get on it!

Stuck a tenner on Charlie Austin to score first against City.... Thought it wasn't my day when he had 2 goals disallowed.

Also only needed a bloody West ham goal for an acca for 790 to come in,

Reading beat me yesterday in two seperate accas. I knew I should have stuck to my guns and went with Derby instead....

I sent a request for the Facebook also

Martingale variants are only worth using IMO when you think you have spotted some value rather than just betting based on the odds on offer. I used a variant on tennis a while back (continually backing a break of serve and proportionally increasing my stake) but it wasn't really based on any evaluation of the odds on offer so I ended up exhausting my bankroll eventually.

Yeah still active. Just classed as a secret group now. Think the aim was to ensure people were relatively active in here first before letting anyone in as there's a good group of lads.

Hopefully Scott will be along to confirm. Don't want us all getting banned!

Belgium cost me £120 last night :(. I had worked my way up from £30, was going to withdraw when that won LBKASODKAD
