Is their a 24" LCD around at the moment that will be jack of all trades?

DVD
HDTV
Desktop
Gaming

or do I need a 20" for gaming and a 28" for DVD :(

I want a <8ms for gaming but also need good playback for DVD HD etc.

The dell 24" is highish response time and puts me off. Whats the acer 24" like?

hopefully the new dell 24" will have that, though there hasnt been much word on it yet.
Dell have now released a 17" and 19" version along the same style as the 30" so it shouldnt be too long before they talk about the new 24", i hope.

I'd either wait or get some cheap stuff as HDCP support is a very grey area @ the moment due to Nvidia + ATI not implementing it in the bios on newer high end cards and leaving it out altogether on other models.

The situation with TFTs is not much better either. Only a few have true HDCP support.

As HDCP is the new HD DVD standard its your money if you find you get the wrong piece of non HDCP compliant kit (like almost all of the PC community up to now. LOL).

You could always get a cheap 17" for gaming and a 32" LCDTV for TV/video games for the same price as a Dell 2405 or just a 32" LCDTV for PC games even and hope they release a HDCP upgrade box.

Try to get a DVI port on the TV as that is best for the PC output.
