Answer: There are approximately 500 varieties of fruit

Thats not that stupid of an answer.

But yes, most are hilarious :D

Reminds me of a mate who instead of doing his computing exam. Re-wrote the script to Robocop within an hour and a half.

Nearly got thrown out of the school as the examiners where that scared of him :)
 
I was asked this question in my year 10 (I think it's year 9 in England) geography paper:

Why do farmer's move their sheep down hill to flatter pastures in periods of wet weather?

I answered:

Because the sheep's wool get's wet and as it does so get's heavier, thus causing the sheep to roll down the hill, resulting in injury or death, and a loss of income for the farmer. The flatter land stops them rolling so far.


(I actually got 2 marks for this answer out of 4)
 
Mild genius in some of those answers. Almost all are a fundamental misunderstanding but for a few technically they're not wrong even if they aren't the answer that was expected.

That's not the way the education system works though. If you give an answer that's not on the syllabus, it's wrong. Even if it's correct.
