Haha! Forgot all about doing that, used to have to to a similar thing with my downloads from college, and all too often one of the disks would decide to not work once I got them home. Stupid things.

A not so fond memory of that era is receiving an AOL disk through the post seemingly many times a week. I had stacks of them. I remember trying to research if you could erase them VHS style when we got our first 2 speed CDR drive.

i have fond memories of 56k, lol connecting to blueyonder in the corner, and seeing it pop up i used to love it, mind uw as only like 8/9 lol. so awesome and the dialing sound etc. playing HL, TO , UT99 on 140-200 ping lol. seeing it go down to 105 thinking i had idsn or something lol ROOOFL. was so awesome, family wars about getting 20 ping lower than the other.

I know what you mean mate. Virtually every week I would get a free disk from AOL. Physical spam at its finest!! Used to throw the CD's out my window at night

USB flash drives are the greatest thing since sliced bread. The only thing I miss from floppies is the write protection feature.
