I read that the word in Daggerfall is estimated at twice the size of great britain. That's rather big

Yeah, it's huge. When you go onto the fast travel map you have loads of countries to choose from and you can zoom in to each one and travel to all the towns and various landmarks and stuff. It's easily the biggest rpg i've played in terms of land mass.
