Not sure this was thought through properly.

The lay-by is by a primary school and during school hours pretty much always full of cars as the staff parking behind that yellow barrier hasn't got enough space, so anyone driving up the road is going to see "_OW".

The road was so full of pot-holes before that anyone speeding was going to break something on their car, so in fact pretty effective already at traffic calming.

EDIT: Changed hosting as google images is a pile of donkey excrement. Thanks to @Diddums for pointing out I made a total Grayling of it.
