They were until the kids realised they could kill the network by removing the end cap. The contractor brought in to install the network originally wasn't smart enough to T-piece and run a length back into the conduit before fitting the term caps out of sight/reach.

I spent about 18hrs total going around 250+ classrooms and rectifying their idiocy.
