Story is a bit misleading (shocking for the Daily Mail I know...) in that the ref didn't blow 'early' it was more a case of him ending the match at an acceptable time (the minimum requirement of 94:00 had been passed) and it just happened that the ball was travelling towards the goal at the time.

If anything, the 'villain' in this case should be the Leeds player for not putting more power on the shot so that it reached the goal sooner.
