I'm in a long distance relationship :(

She's in Northolt Middlesex, and I'm in Tilstock Shropshire! (171 miles apart) It's a 2 1/2 - 3 hour drive. But we try and see each other every 2-3 weeks when we can get the time off work.

It's getting difficult now though, we've been together for over a year...

Only just read the comments :D

It's not long distance at the moment, We're both at uni. When we graduate next year she's planning on staying in England :) I'm hopefully going out to Dubai at Christmas with her too!

Long distance sucks, skype only goes so far!

This forum seems to have a disproportionally high number of LD couples who actually did make it. Not sure if there's a geek/computer/soulmates thing going on or how it all works but it's actually quite nice to hear because in my experience they almost never work out (well, friends' experience, not mine).

My marriage was long distance for significant parts of it. It is all about making the time together count.

Although now we are inseparable, we will not even spend a night away from each other since I came back from Iraq.

Spent the 1st 3 years of my realationship as long distance, me in uk, she in gib. 11 years on married with a lovely son. It was tough, very tough but we knew it was worth it

I was in a long distance relationship (6000 miles away) and I was on the phone every day morning and evening. I remember sometimes I would lie in my bed and listen and after a while I just nodded off due to the time difference!
Webcam didn't work half the time (I was on Win 98 OS :D - took over 5 minutes to boot up the machine)
Skype was also hit and miss, but nowadays Win 7 and HD cams and faster broadband would make it easier.

(Been married for about 2 and a half years now )
