*** The All New Official OcUK Post Your GF/BF Thread ***

Been a while since i saw thread..

One on right, Ignore plank duck face on left *sigh*

I'm more concerned about the eyebrows to be honest. The one on the left.

Are you fourteen?

It's called the 'before' phase of a relationship...You know, when you go out to restaurants and hang out? Or do you just walk up to someone and go BE MY GIRLFRIEND every so often?

Time for another from me, contrary to the username, Emma my girlfriend on the left

Are you fourteen?
Obviously I'm not fourteen. I can't detect any subtext or hidden question beneath the perceived insult. Perhaps you could spell it out for me? :)

Just for context, I am from the UK, she is from Quebec, we are both living in Bordeaux, but only for a two more weeks. We only started seeing each other (yes, that's what it is ;)) about two weeks ago, and calling it more than that would make things too difficult.

I'm definitely not fourteen, but thanks for making sure!

I don't see how the concept of seeing someone is confusing. You go out for drinks etc a few times before your officially a couple that's how it works. As somebody else said you don't me a girl start talking then ten minutes later ask her to be your girlfriend that would send them running very quickly.

I was seeing Emma for about 3 weeks before we was officially together, you have to get to know somebody at least a little bit before you decide you want to commit to a relationship otherwise it wouldn't end well.

I seriously don't get this... Do people really have a problem with the idea of 'seeing someone' and not called them your boyfriend or girlfriend? :p

Seeing someone has been a colloquialism for dating since I was in school over a decade ago, some of you must be well old. :p

I meant dating, but courting works too, and better.
Courtship doesn't work, sorry. It's a Victorian word, used to describe when a man tried to woo a lady, often referred to as someone's daughter. Dating is a much more modern, up to date term that reflects the less formal process undertaken today.
