The Alphaderp

Seriously OP?

I thought people stopped doing this when they were in primary school. I can just imagine it now, all you man children sticking your tongues out and counting on your fingers, yearning for an abacus or some sort of coloured chart while singing "Twinkle twinkle little star :)" in your head just to remember a ****ing letter.

This is what is wrong with the education system right here. What more evidence do you need?

Whatever ****** boy :p

Edit - haha autostarred competitor! But you did work there :p

I think it's fair to say that no matter what your age is, it is quite possible to not have any common sense. My dad is 50 odd, he can't even use a washing machine and gets his mum do the laundry! And guess what? He has a washing machine.

What are you saying? *sniff*

I too do this. I guess it's because you're taught the alphabet in the first year at primary school using that song and that's the last time you bother with the alphabet again until you need to search through a yellow pages or something :p.

What, so you all have to start at A every time?

I remember them in groups... ADC, DE, FGH, IJKL, MNOP, QRSTUV, WXYZ. If I need to remember the order I can just remember the group it's in and work it out from there.

It's incredible that adults who have presumably some kind of basic education behind them have to sing a toddler's song to work out how the alphabet works.

Having said that, I don't know how many days there are in each month and can't remember the silly song that tells you

I don't have the alphabet problem. In fact, I know which number every letter is off by heart.

However, I have to mentally work out east from west :o
