My guess is MS don't really care a lot about the 'value add' stuff in drivers and software, probably more just does the driver break their o/s. If the driver behaves itself in their gfx/display stack and doesn't cause issues then anything over and above that - fan profiles etc - is not really their problem.
 
People on reddit are saying the fan speed being stuck at 20% is actually frying GPUs. Seems like quite a major issue, will AMD cover warranty claims for this?

I would have thought that the card would have throttled way before it was able to fry.

IS LINUX GETTING FREESYNC SUPPORT ANY TIME !

Also they have a couple of regressions in some titles with the 15.11's. Upsetting going on the jump they managed with the 15.5/7's

PS. Sorry for shouting but thought you may miss my post, also you can shout at the relevant people and say you have been shouted at so passing it on :p

Once the cards hit 95 degrees they throttle back. Fan speed stuck on 20% loses performance but won't fry the GPU.

The card will throttle down to 2D clocks if needed to prevent damage.

Getting 2 issues now I have updated to crimson;

1) cnext.exe crash/error on shutdown, not really investigated much but hopefully there is a fix.

2) Afterburner OSD (RTSS) renders the OSD when I open IP the new software, is there any way to prevent this?
 
I'm getting frequent display drivers crashes since upgrading to this Crimson driver.

AMD 6450, Win 10, Chrome open. (Might be chrome related)

But it was definitely less with the 15.7.1's.
 
I keep getting that error message when I go to restart or shut down. Only happens if I laugh radeon software after starting the computer.

I also noticed the fan issue. Dangerous, luckily I am not playing any games right now and won't be for some time, so it is not a issue for me.

Poor showing from AMD. They should have just spent 4 more weeks and done better QA and also got CCC fully integrated. Oh well, overall still a move in the right direction I suppose. The drivers should be rock solid for the release of 16nm cards hopefully :D

1.Yes I get the error too now and again. Also started frequent driver crashes and poor performance in Witcher 3 so went back to CCC for now.

2. You have to add the Cnext.exe to RTSS and disable OSD for it.
 
Think the crimson drivers are causing my battlefront to crash to desktop after matches with no error message. A Shane cause they eliminate the stutter.

Quoting myself here. Seems like crimson is not the cause of my issue. This was not happening before. Actions else got this problem?

Tested with the 15.11.1 catalyst and it's still happening. Never used to do this. Anyone else got this issue?

Anyone else's fan speed randomly ramping itself up? Temps are fine so no idea why it's doing it. I have to go back into Crimson and reset the global profile to get the fan speed to go back to normal.
 
Given up on Crimson drivers, in Project Cars my Fury is down clocking randomly to 600Mhz (mostly at the start of races). Never had issues before and clean out Crimson back on 15.10 betas and working perfectly again.

With the multitude of gaming problems with these new drivers you'd think AMD would put as much effort into testing them as they did on the marketing event to promote them...
