We had something similar with all our work laptops, whereby on a fresh boot (or reboot) as Windows 11 loaded to the logon screen, we'd see a black screen. Others would login and then get the black screen before the desktop loaded. That was actually due to a recent MS update. Not sure if that is the same thing you were seeing.

Releasing working RDNA3 FSR 4 code-you know it works-flat out refusing to support despite 70 series/handhelds users running it manually.
Compare that with all games running everything DLSS since 20 series(ex FG 2/30series)!
AMD's trolling RDNA4/3 users with an AI gpu driver-that's pathetic!

Think I have completely lost faith with AMD GPU's just feels like they cant even be bothered any more, all this good press that NVIDIA is getting with DLSS 4.5 support for all RTX cards AMD could have gotten that months ago with FSR 4 and back then they would have been comparing it against DLSS 4 instead of DLSS 4.5, So if they do backtrack add support for RDNA 2 and 3 cards now it will just be a delayed reaction.
And in stead of lots of good positive coverage they could have gotten all the tech tubers will just be comparing it to DLSS 4.5 and AMD will be getting the crap ripped out of them for not doing it months ago when they had the chance.

This is the AMD way. Tying their own shoe-laces together is part of the strategy. Not sure how it helps them win, but they keep doing it.
What are you guys on about? It is an optional download for those that want to do LLM and dev work and tooling, that is launching alongside the regular driver release, of 26.1.1.
Redstone only dropped with the last driver release. Keep your knickers on and see what release notes comes with 26.1.1.
No one is stopping you going Nvidia. Why keep moaning. Go enjoy the beta drivers, roll backs, hotfix drivers and preset a b c d e f xyz and dlss swapper fun. Jeez some people!

I don't care, hence why I don't go posting in the Nvidia drivers thread.
I'm trying to convey that a) it's not as rosy as people make it out, and b) they can change easily vendor if they are not happy with how AMD release updates. It seems that people instead find it easier to post replies to then stir up the usual responses. It's literally the same people every time. And some of the people don't even own an AMD card. They literally just can't help themselves. They must sit shaking at their desk waiting for a reason to post and then exhale as if releasing some inner demon. They need help!

I don't use FSR or any other upscaling as they simply make games look all fuzzy around the edges. Hell, sometimes I don't even use AA if the option allows. Those crisp, jaggy edges make it more real!

+1 this, at this point the RTX 5070 costs the same as the RX 9070.
Even with all their AI crap Nvidia are now actually offering better value than AMD, at least inn come instances because mainstream Nvidia GPU don't cost any more and offer better features.
What's more Nvidia support their older generation GPU's better than AMD at this point....

I get why people might want FSR4 on older hardware but if we stop and think about it, what happens if it does work but you get a 15% (random figure) perf loss or greater (game dependent). Would people use it? "Hey, we've back ported this great feature for you but oh yeah you are going to have less performance." Last time I checked people don't want less FPS they want more. Praising Nvidia for releasing DLSS4.5 for working on older models when it means losing on average 5-12% perf (but can be up to 30%). Thanks but no thanks. That's not a good news story.
