Explains the dragging of the feet I reckon and why retailers are tight lipped but getting agitated at the same time.
Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.
Was away to say, just been reading about leaked prices of $499 and $599.AMD's next-gen RDNA 4 pricing rumor: Radeon RX 9070 XT for $599, RX 9070 for $499

I recall there's been various leaks, rumours and such suggesting boxes and suggesting that they have cards in stock. Else idk where these box pics come from?Yeah it seems a few points go to this week for an announcement. If retailers have these units in stock they wont want them sitting there taking up space unless they get some sort of incentive for doing that. I am more amazed people working in the retailer side of it have not shared pictures but every day this gets harder to keep quiet.

What's more interesting to me is that AMD are months behind on previous payments to retailers so, quite rightly, retailers are loathe to offer up any more 'credit'.
If true that's really bad.
Load of rubbish. The articles uses MLID as the source and mentions the pricing was a suggestion. Since when does pricing speculation by a YTer become a 'rumour' worth doing an article on?
If it were true and has been going on for ages then why hasn't it made the "news" until now? Smells more like these sites are getting annoyed with amds silence and are firing out any old crap they can to get clicks.
Because it can actually be fairly common and companies aren't likely to call it out because:
1) Consumers probably don't care that much about these sorts of problems
2) It means AMD might not want to work with them in future
So unless it gets REALLY bad we likely won't hear much, think of the EKWB issues that were going on for ages before it became common knowledge/public
Ive just sent her a few links from videocardz.com just so she can see the type of crap we have to read!Do you think if we all email [email protected] and ask nicely they'll hurry up and release these already?
Still in two minds lol. Get a 5090 n be done with it or 9070xt and see how I get on.
The thrill of the chase is more exciting than actually getting it.
As the 5080 is really a 5070Bit of a wide gap there in price points, an alleged 500 or so card vs a 2k one. Why not a 5080?
No idea, it has about as much validity as everything else that's been discussed in this 170 page thread :/

Whether or not AMD have decided on their prices or not, I'm sure that these types of (click-bait) articles are a useful way of gauging reaction to these figures. We all know that every company is trying to make as much money as possible, but I think that charging 499 and 599 is not going to lead to long-term success. The 7900 XT was regularly available in the 500's last year. The 9070 XT (one gen on with similar performance and less VRAM) needs to be cheaper. Especially after the awful launch of the 7900 XT + XTX and what is looking like a minimal upgrade to Nvidia's 70-class cards. 399 and 499 for the win (which means that they'll be around 50 quid more than that in reality).AMD's next-gen RDNA 4 pricing rumor: Radeon RX 9070 XT for $599, RX 9070 for $499
