The Apprentice 2008

Simon seemed like the only credible, honest candidate, now what's left?

You assume that a credible and honest person is required for the job. This may not be the case.

There also seems to be a huge bias towards making "good TV".

Like SAS said, if that guy (Simon) had been given a task of major significance like managing a property portfolio, which lets be honest, is the main thing SAS does now, he would have been completely out of his league and mucked it up.

It really does just seem like she's being kept in for the sake of 'good' television. Ratings, ratings, ratings.:( I was certain she'd go. Nobody in their right mind wouldn't fire her.

You can imagine Apprentice 2009, "We've wittled down 14 actor... I mean candidates who want to become...". Each one will get a script and told when they will be fired, and there will be a foot note in large fonts on the end of each page, 'Rember: MAKE GOOD TV!

i think sir Alan has been quite clever hes got rid of a guy who is more suited to the army than the board room and hes set up someone who he obviously doesn't feel is capable of running a team to slip up and fire her next week. and i guess lucinda will probably go soon as well she's useless

Loved the rinsing that Claire got in tonight's episode, hope she fails massively next week as PM. Helene also needs a good slap for being an ignorant clown.

Raef to win!

Wrong decision Sir Sugar, wrong decision.

Whilst I don't think Simon's particular special I think he's better than most there and, apart from that, he seems like a really nice guy. Sorry to see him go and even more sorry to see that hateful talentless Claire didn't.

Bad decision Sir Sugar, bad decision.

Aye Raef to win, seems to be the only one with some business sense, all the others are pap. At least in previous contests there have been 3/4+ with genuine business acumen.

I agree that Simon appeared to be a little out of his depth. He's a hard worker and if he's told what to do he'll get it done whatever but I think he's not able to give direction himself. He made some silly mistakes that got people's backs up and I think while he's a leader/motivator he's not a decision maker.

Much as that's barrel scraping, it's probably the best you'll get out of the guys.

My bet is now on Lindi winning this - she seems quite switched on, and hasn't been in the limelight thus far.

Ah yes, the Sugarbabe. And very much out of the firing line so far.

Aside from Raef, I think Lee is a good bet to go far. With designer stubble and a surname like McQueen, what's not to like? ;)

Yeah it's not a good lot this year at all. I hated Raef after the first episode, but he seems to have his head screwed on and he isn't daft that's for sure. All I care about is seeing Sugar take chunks out of the muppets like Claire in the board room :D

Spot on. My thoughts exactly.

Raef dresses well also, all the other guys look like the latest line of George at Asda.

Raef should have stepped in with the incident between Lucinda and Helene, her name was so annoying, sounded like everyone was putting a Welsh accent on

None of this lot seem any good. Could you imagine Simon heading up a massive scale project? Give over - he was good to go, but same can be said of all of them :p

Let's be realistic guys. The job pays £100,000, no more. No apprentice-winner is going to take charge of any significant portfolio. He pays £100,000, gains millions. SAS is a money maker through and through. It's all about the TV.

The reality this year is it seems none of them really warrant even a £100,000 salary. It's clear-cut now that all that's left in this series is to make good TV because the public, business savvy or not, is catching on to the fact that selecting people to be in the final 20-odd is all about TV.
