The Apprentice - 2009

I would enjoy it but the candidates, who are already on £££, seem to have a complete lack of common sense and have a playground attitude. Baffles me to the point of turning off.

Yay more TV License funded rubbish on the BBC.
Quite.

A bunch of self-obsessed idiots making a hash of tasks set for them only for an unpredictable, yet dramatic ending to every show, where despite all the back-stabbing, everyone's all friendly and nice afterwards.

Junk.

Friend of a friend is on this series. Apparently it was all filmed last year and is ridiculously scripted, even more so than you would think. Glad Im not about to have to endure people talking about it all day at the office!

Yeah I don't get that. I love watching the Apprentice and have watched all the SAS series but I don't get why those already on salaries greater than £100k a year want to quit for a chance of getting a £100k job with SAS.

If I had a choice between a definite, solid, safe £100k+ a year job and a tiny chance of getting a £100k for for a few years you wouldn't catch me filling out an application form.

The one thing I believe is scripted, and hate the series for, is the stupid quotes the candidates make at the beginning of a new series. Like the twerp this year who's the youngest candidate and says that 'making money is better than sex' or something?:mad:

I just hope that SAS does (or has ;)) seen through the pathetic idiots and left us with some decent prospects for a finale.

I so often cannot believe the outright stupidity of most of the candidates most of the time. That just completely blows me away. So naturally I spend scant time seated when it's on.

Since for some unexplainable reason the 'I have never' thread has been closed I'll say it here -

I have never watched The Apprentice.
Why is it so good or not?

im really looking forward to this.

scripted or not, its great TV and very easy watching for a wednesday night

yay.

Does anyone else detest Alan Sugar and his overinflated ego? If you actually take a look at how succesful his companies have been it's clear to see that he is actually very bad at adapting to the times/new markets - Viglen is a good example of this. Other than Amstrat (or at least early amstrad) his ventures have actually been pretty poor.

Amstrad, once worth over a billion, sold for 125 million. The blokes a genius obviously.

Exactly, same with Viglen. Failed to adapt to where the IT market (especially education) is going, lost a massive contract in NI (to our company :D) and profits doen 97%. But somehow Bordan Tkachuk is a good person to interview a potential apprectice (although if you also think Karren Brady is a good person to conduct interviews then something is wrong!)

He sold it for only a fraction of what it was once worth if he had done things well in the late 80s early 90s.

Suger thought he could repackage old tech in new boxes and it back fired on him and he lost millions.
