*** The Apprentice 6 ***

Does Sugar contradict himself every other week?

A few weeks ago he told a PM that they made a mistake by not accepting exclusivity when pitching a product - this week he says they weren't allowed to offer exclusivity because they didn't ask for the permission of the manufacturer so he invalidates their sales.

Also, the shower heads were £12.95/unit upto 1000 and £9.95/unit for quantities over 1000. As far as I can tell, the teams are acting as distributing companies, not employees of the manufacturer. So when they sold 1000 units @ £9.95 to one retailer, what business is it of the manufacturer if they sell a further 60 units at £10.95? They have already met the requirement of 1000 units to qualify for the reduced price, so in the real world (which these tasks are designed to emulate) a distributer will place an order for 1060 units @ £9.95 each, not 1000 units @ £9.95 followed by another 60 @ £12.95 just because they're selling to someone else. For some reason Sugar thinks this is cheating and invalidated the sales.

No, he says exclusivity is allowed when the product is their own, not allowed when pitching other people's products. He did his nut when they sold someone else's ice cream exclusively in series 4.

Oh right, of course they made that one product themselves. This is the first season I've watched properly and it has nothing to do with the hot ladies they have chosen this time. :o

I'm sure he still says things like how impressed he is with selling then turns to the doctor who went last week and said "selling is just a one trick though isn't it?"

No.

You mean when whatserface... Paloma? refused exclusivity on the beach tat? That was their own product, which they could sell any which way they wanted. This one was not.

They're not acting as a middleman, though. They're doing the marketing and then leaving it at that. They're not buying the stock and then selling it on.

A well thought out response. Thanks for your input.

ic1male actually explained that 20 minutes ago. But glad to see you are on the ball (or are you just slow at typing?)

So they are acting as employees of the manufacturer?

That wasn't my whole response...

I open a lot of tabs and work through them. Sometimes that takes time. No need to be snarky just because two people have explained what you misunderstood.

It's certainly closer to that than when they're selling their own product.

not every other week but he does an awful lot

a lot of these mini businesses the contestants set up would get no repeat business anyway as some of what they produce is awful and often the winner is which one was slightly less worse than the other

In week 2 he said he doesn't like people who stayed in the background and sat on the fence and that taking risks was better, so he fired Joy.

In week 3 Sandeesh moaned when she was working in the bakery and didn't pull her weight at all. She also sold the least and wasn't putting in much effort to sell on the street. She was definitely a background character but this time Sugar kept the quiet one and fired the doctor. Sure he made mistakes (the PM in the 2nd week made a HUGE mistake) but he was the best seller in the team so at least he did something right. Sandeesh sat in the background and did nothing.

Glad Melissa wented. :D

Indeed, helloooooo Liz
I thought the lads did very well not to try a swift ogle.

I, on the other hand, just couldn't do anything but stare.

Thank goodness, I thought I was the only one paying attention to the important bits of the show.
Hell no! Heck she can be my apprentice. ;) Although what on earth was Alex doing not sitting in the pool?

If Liz is in the pool, I'm getting in, not sitting on the edge!
