Which was the best series?

By best i don't mean "who where the best business men and excelled" I mean which had the most utter barn pots?

TBH I think this series is pretty much there in terms of barn pots, there is one or two which are good but the rest are complete noobs. Unfortunatly the most entertaining in terms of stupidity and now gone.
 
nah this series they seem sane, i remember in the earlier series there was screaming and all sorts of nutters.

Not just stupid but "i'll cut you" crazy :p
 
Saira and Paul in series one were always screaming at each other to the point it got a bit uncomfortable to watch.
 
only previous winner to stil be with lord sugar, is yasmina from last year, and she's about to leave to go have a baby, so really, not been a good hiring scheme for lord sugar.
 
That's a good point actually. I wonder if that is down to them not selecting the right people to be in the boardroom with them when it comes to being 'fingered'!

Maybe because he gives them rubbish jobs to do? The whole 100k salary is a front for the tv series, the winner doesn't get to "work with Lord Sugar" at all. They are given a public relations role to promote a new office block or building or whatever else he is building as they have a "recognisable face" that makes good PR. They are not given any management role or any real responsibility.

As for the salary, I don't have any info but I would tend to think that 100k includes pension contributions and all benefits so it's not really what most of us would think 100k - and there is no guarantee that it will be a permanent role is there? could be a 1y fixed term contract of some sort? By the way, the 100k salary is paid by TalkBalkThames (google it) for the first year, and the 2nd it usually drops when Sugar puts his hand in his own pocket.

Anyroad, this is the last series whereby he'll have someone working in one of his companies. From 2011 he will be contributing £250k of his money to whatever business his Apprentice chooses to start up. Lordsralan will then become a director of said business.

Given that lots of bigger employers use salary sacrifice and flexible benefits schemes, all that matters is the total value of the remuneration package.

I don't have any hard evidence but wherever I've googled on what projects they've done it always comes up like a PR role really.

I'm not saying that they are getting little money, just pointing out that it's not as good as it originally sounds. Still a good paycheck though.

I've just updated my previous post while you were probably replying to me. Googling around shows that TalkBackThames pays the first year of the winner 100k and then it's Sugar that pays them - hence why most leave within the second year usually? Probably their salary goes down? Dunno, speculating really.
