The Ashes 2013-14: Australia v England [21st Nov - 2nd Feb] *** spoilers ***

Good position for Australia. If we bat for an hour tomorrow we should have enough time to bowl England out over the remaining two days.

Underprepared cowards.

Far too blasé about this series and they deserve to lose, need a long hard look in the mirror at themselves when this is over.

I said England would get destroyed, and whitewash is the probable outcome. England are finished and yes your time machine is working perfectly.

A couple of my mates were at Adelaide Oval today. It's looking pretty good:

They said they'd heard reports of Billy Cooper swearing at Australian fans as he stormed out of the car park. Can't say I'm surprised.

By a strange coincidence, the Barmy Army seem to have forgotten the lyrics to their Johnson song all of a sudden... I guess the sight of Cook literally brought to his knees by the world's best pace bowler will do that to you.

Johnson was clearly enjoying himself.

What a depressing score to wake up to.... Bell top scorer though:)

Bell's always been great, but right now he's looking like your new Trott. Awesome batting.

Wow ermmm England what the hell??, they are pretty much giving up this Ashes without a single bit of resistance...if they arent careful they could very well be whitewashed like they were a few yrs back:p.

Aussies look very very fired up and must be odds on to take back the Ashes. A lead of 600 or so will nail this test shut and the Aussies should go 2-0 up in the series.

Lolworthy stuff from England all round, Johnson is looking the real deal now as a bowler.

Aus were poor over the summer but still put up a good fight - wish I could say the same about England at the moment. It's the manner of our defeats (assuming we lose here) that are disappointing.

Johnson is looking the real deal now as a bowler.

Johnson has traditionally swung between 'best in the world' and 'worst in the world'—the problem being that we never know which one we'd get until he arrived at the pitch.

This time it feels very different. He was inspiring at the Gabba, on a track which was at least pace-friendly. Now he's been unstoppable at the Oval, on a track with almost no life in it at all. Next stop is Perth, where the track is ideal for pace.

He's never been so good, so consistently; and certainly never on a bog standard track like Adelaide. I've taken my turn at bashing Johnson in the past, but it looks like he's finally turned a corner.

Hahaha, I've just seen the Barmy Army Facebook page: in a desperate attempt to understand why it's all gone so horribly wrong, they've resorted to conspiracy theories:

One view is that the Aussies dropped in another pitch over night.

What a load of ****! I hope they choke on those sour grapes.

^^ Never mind, perhaps they can learn from us while they're down here. We've been thrashed enough times this year to know how a loss should be taken—and despite all the humiliation we never accused the hosts of dropping in a new pitch overnight. :)

Seriously, just what is going on with England's batting? Even the South African half of the team can't work it out.

Dobell's article on Cricinfo ('Wretched, weak, timid and gormless') seems to hint that Andy Flower could be looking for a new job soon.

Aussies knowing how a loss should be taken? Hilarious. Though if it's any consolation they're better losers than they are winners! As for not accusing the hosts re: pitches, you might want to look a bit closer to home and quit while you're behind:

Note that this is an official representative of Cricket Australia, not some beered-up middle aged bloke that follows "Ingerlund" around spouting conspiracy theories.

Let's not forget the allegations regarding hot spot in the summer either.
