The ASUS Rampage V Extreme Thread

Damn you, I'm number 7 apparently. I guess some must have placed their orders when the RVE first show up at around noon on Friday. I placed my order at 10 to 5 as soon as they popped up again.

Still, looking forward to it arriving. Really hoping it does get shipped today.

They haven't arrived at the ocuk HQ today so tomorrow will be the earliest it'll be shipped :(

Funny enough, while I was hoping they would ship today. I suspected they wouldn't.

I doubt will see them in stock until the end of the week or possibly next week.

If they arrive tomorrow, all pre orders will be shipped ready for Wednesday, if I have to wait until next week I'll cancel and order the deluxe.

How long were the delays?

Ordered early September then we told mid October, then early November and finally some of us got them on 5/12. It was a bit of a mess.

This is a different scenario being an important platform release so I do expect to see them shipped this week.

Wow that sucks, I'll give it until Friday before I cancel the order and go for a different board, it's decent enough but not potentially worth waiting ages for.

I called up about an hour ago to ask about this, the polite gentleman I spoke to on the phone said they were expected in today, and that they should have more than enough to cover all existing orders.

We shall see...

EK water blocks available at the end of the month:

More details will be disclosed in the upcoming weeks via EK Social Media websites.

The IV did 16x/16x/8x I think.
The other option then is the Asus X99-E WS which does 16x/16x/16x/16x

It only does 16x/16x/16x/16x because it has a multiplexer chip... Which will add latency and won't give you true 16x/16x/16x/16x performance.

Also, did anyone figure out if the M.2 is bootable on this board?

Not 100-percent but I believe M.2 is only bootable under bios and not uefi (even then it has issues or something), which removes a lot of the real benefits in the first place. Again, not 100-percent, and things could have changed with x99, but I don't think they have.

I hate pre-ordering, so I'm pretty much going to spend my money with the first place that has them in stock. Seems like everywhere is waiting for some. And everywhere is charging about the same price.
