I looked through 5/6 pages here and couldn't see a thread for just general odds and sods, so here we go...

I try do something once a week, started about a year ago where I'd spend my Sundays doing odd and sods and then taking them into work the next day where the box will be empty relatively quickly. Generally not a cake person but enjoy doing batches of cookies/brownies, throw in a cheesecake or two depending on how I'm feeling. Want to play more with dough as I'd made doughnuts and cinnamon rolls quite early on, but the results were never quite how I expected. Pie dough is fine I think, love making a good apple pie. Oh and as for cookies I swear by the New York Times chocolate chip recipe every time.

I often use foodgawker in terms of finding recipes, any other recommendations? Also wouldn't mind baking other stuff but in need of some inspiration!

I've just been searching for a good cinnamon bun recipe as I had a craving for one on the way to the office this morning. Might give them a crack at the weekend.

I need to bake some sort of biscuits for Sunday as my folks are coming over, so I may give Viennese Whirls another go instead. This was the result of my first (and last) try. They were a bugger to pipe as the dough was a bit too stiff.

My main problem seems to be rolling them, I can't get them tight enough and when they come out there's the odd gap which makes them look awful.

Awful photo, but they're great. Changed this one up by adding peanut butter and Reeses mini PB cups. If I could get peanut chips that didn't cost a bomb they'd be even better.

We did a bit of bread baking on Sunday ourselves. Went quite well :)

This is a loaf made with Chorizo in and on.

500g strong white flour
1 packet of yeast
2 tsp salt
200g of chorizo
3 springs of Rosemary

Oooooh might just have to try that. I've not baked any bread for a couple of months and we love chorizo at our house. :D

That looks cool, never really had time for making bread as I'm so impatiently.

Fancy finding a good salted caramel brownie recipe and giving it a go this weekend, any recommendations?
