Not seen it yet myself but it's a new show from Kurt Sutter (Sons of Anarchy creator) that started in US last night.

Fully expecting a medieval soap opera full of historical inaccuracies but I love Kurt's work!
 
The Bar Steward Executioner - The story of a chap who works full time behind a bar and does some executing on weekends for a bit of extra money on the side, to help pay child support from his first marriage.
 
I think it could be interesting. I will reserve judgment until a good few episodes are shown. These days people are too quick to dismiss a show based on the first couple episodes (the curse of modern age tv). I all but dismissed Dark Matter after the first 3 and am glad I didn't, so I will give things a fair chance.
 
I'm very disappointed. It's turning into another "Reign". Typical "American idea of medieval times". Complete with political correctness when it comes to ethnic layout of 1300's Wales but while heavily exploiting all other stereotypes - bad English lord is a skinhead yob, or a closeted gay, hey, why don't we throw a sheep shagger into the mix as comedy device. Things are happening on the screen without a word of explanation afterwards, no character building, no closures, it's written like a revenge B-movie from eighties. This is your protagonist. Someone close to him dies. He wants revenge. All the things will now automatically fall into place all the time. And all of you must be cheering for him now, because, you know - Rambo, revenge! It's only missing pop rock music in a background to be complete, immediate write off.

And the thing is just badly miscasted - I almost want the True Blood vamp to be the protagonist. I don't like any of the main guys. Executioner looks like an ozzy barman, and for some reason every now and then he has some sort of "music theatre" manner to his body, similar to Fred Astaire, like he was about to start dancing or stretch his arms and immediately burst into a song :(
