It has since changed. It sits on the load screen with the title and graphic of the map. It does this until I get annoyed and close bf4. No crash error or anything, just sits on the load screen.

Are you running MSI afterburner? If so try closing it as some have been having trouble with the latest version.

How long is "until I get annoyed and close bf4"? The game does take a bit of time to join a server even when loading from SSDs.

I'm pretty sure you have the same bug many of us had when an expansion pack came out a while back. Adding/Removing a command from the config fixed it. I seem to remember Josh helped someone with the same bug a while back so hopefully he will wade in with the fix.
