The Battlefield Hardline Benchmarks Thread

Spot on tbh. World war 2 shooters were always my favourite.

Can't really mention any decent ww2 shooters of recent years? RO2 is alright, little complex for what I'm after from a shooter though, last one I enjoyed would have been WAW which is what, 6-7 years ago now? Would love a ww2 shooter on frostbite.

I'd also like to see the team format change, unless squad based games (4-5 person per team limit), I'd like to see a mahoosive map with say 16v16v16v16. As is on the big servers you near always get team A vs team B, I want teams C and D etc...

Some good idea's there. I think the last WW2 shooter i enjoyed was Cod 2. Went on to play Modern warfare then started playing Mmo's mainly. Been trying alsorts over the years in between Mmo's but no shooter has really made me want to sit for hours playing for a long time.

I have been playing the Alpha of Destiny on the Ps4 over the last few days. I think that will be my next game. It's an Mmo Fps game and was impressed by it. It's gonna be out on the Pc as well and definitely worth a go on the beta if Pc gets one.

I know what you mean. It's always (usually) interesting in Planetside 2 when you're in an area with all 3 teams fighting it out.
Also after doing 48+ vs. 48+ fights in Planetside 2 32 vs. 32 feels a bit small/old-hat.

Plus since it's free it makes the £30+ for each re-hash of BF a little more annoying.

Aye, I actually hope the next installment is either a new 1942/2142, a change from this 'modern warfare' craze that has plagued the fps genre for the last 8 or so years.

Well said and its what i would buy sick of this modern warfare style we have atm

Sorry, I meant to say 'were you meant to rull all THAT way?'

I guessed you either missed all the vehicles or used the run as an attempt to standardise the bench

I do the same in BF4, you never know what targets you might find on foot :)

Not a bad game from what ive played. Not much of a looker tbh. I mainly play bf3/4. Now maybe can of worms im gonna open here. Im in the bf4 CTE test, spec in sig on a stock gtx 780. Regular bf4 is a mess. But bf4 on mantle which ive played on a ati 290 is very comparable to CTE on my 780. Bf4 is a gaming evolved title, aka funded by amd. I cant help but wonder are they cutting out nvidia users as how nvidia do with gameworks. At present bf4 is so hard to judge performance on as the game is so badly coded. But i think gaming evolved is amd's answer to gameworks. Ie pay a developer enough to use what you want in a game.

Oh you've gone and done it now setts lol!

Really? Nah mate because DX is a bit of a mess for AMD users as well, online anyway. Single player is fine. It's just a game/network issue i think, coupled with the fact that Mantle can overcome some of these problems through sheer awesomeness. :p

Maybe if they had spent the time improving DX performance rather than adding in Mantle support (and tweaking/fixing it) then the game may have run better under DX (for both AMD and Nvidia users)? :p

As for the videos you posted earlier, I think the first one might be a little better quality (most obvious I think when moving quickly) but not twice as good (given the file was apparently twice the size). Maybe if the file had been 1GB instead of 720MB it would've been better.
Which did you think was best?
Did you find much speed difference between the two codecs?

I think ill be using the H264 from now on. Smaller file size, converts quicker and not much difference in quality. Cheers for the suggestion GM. I will make the quality a tad higher next time on the H264.

Just going to run some errands matt and I'll start work on some shadow play footage.

Heh, i was only joking when i said i wanted a brew. :p

@Matt.. both videos are decent so if i was u i'd encode at 20000kbps so it keeps filesize down but also keeping quality very decent ;)

Youtube Live is a decent option to use (as it cuts out the uploading part) but u need the upload speed for 1080p and higher. I use 9000kbps for 1080p which is is ok but only leaves me about 3mb left on my upload speed :D

my question as nothing to do with benching but as you all must have played the games this is a good place to ask.
As the game is not made by dice i am hoping the feel of the game is a little different. i never got on with the way battlefield game feel when you play. the way you move and the slow way the character reacts to input commands. jets tanks and so on all feel fine but the character movement just grinds my gears.

How dos the game feel to play compared to battlefield 3/4
