THE BEST graphics card that is single slot for around £100?

Yeah, didn't realise they had doubled the height of the 9800GT/X/+ to make it into the GTS250, was editing my response when I realised my mistake :p

Featuring a full TeraFLOP of compute power, the XFX Radeon HD 4850 is true power player. The single slot design enables easy three- and four-way CrossFire assembly. Play the most intense games with a graphics card that knows how to conserve energy while delivering optimum performance.

That's what the description says, though it isn't infallible

I'm fairly sure the XFX 4850 comes with a dual slot cooler as standard. I'd ask somebody at OcUK with a webnote or phone call to see if that's the case or not to be honest.

On their site: http://www.xfxforce.com/en-us/products/graphiccards/hd 4000series/4850.aspx

The cooler, which looks very similar to the one on OcUK's product page, is clearly dual slot in the pictures, but their (both XFX's and OcUK's) description is single slot - it looks like a case of bad copy pasting.

That's what the description says

I wouldn't be so sure about the descriptions. OCUK quite often get them wrong, some of the AM3 mobo's used to be labeled wrong, saying they were AM3 DDR3 when they were actually AM2+ DDR2.

It's probably an error on XFX's side.

Well I guess it's the Asus 4850 then.
Unless I do tell him to get a single slot cooler, but then that'd still mean taking a hacksaw to the secondary part, hmm...

Thanks ^^
