Birds of Prey on Amiga.

Taking into account the era, the capacity of the floppy disk it was contained on and the hardware running it, it was breath-taking. I think I watched the intro more times than I played the game.
 
Starcraft intro was amazing. With the marine in the trench running out of ammo, and the firebat...

so good. So damn good.

[Edit: Aight i take it back, it wasn't an intro. Friggin amazing anyways]

Homeworld was the first that sprang to mind. Xcom apocalypse was another beauty for its time.

Halflife of course would probably win in a poll. I used to really look forward to the intros to games but nowadays you just don't get really good ones. You might get a short clip of some ingame action like in assassins creed but nothing really amazing.
