Hi,

Just wanted your views on this, I have been with Nildram for the past 4 years, but recently there have been disconnect issues, billing issues and
this is most likely being brought on by the fact they are/have sold out to Tiscali and now TalkTalk.

I most certainly do not want to be on Tiscali or TalkTalk (unless someone could convince me they are good, but I doubt it).

I need a very reliable ISP at peak times for gaming etc, and I mainly download (quite a lot) offpeak.

Who are you folks on here with?

Thanks in advance! :p

Money no object or no good LLU providers then Zen or another business orientated ISP.

If you want a cheaper service that is OK most of the time then Be/O2 if available.

O2 are still having problems with their non-LLU service. They sold too much and can't meet bandwidth demand at peak times.

LLU service is great.

The best deal with o2 is to go through quidco with £70 cash back for first year that is some saving and they currently have 3 months free on there higher packages.

If you have a mobile contract with them give them a call lot of people have been offered free bb for 12 months.

Virgin

If you can get cable, I would recommend Virgin.

Fast speeds, reliable. Download off peak etc

For me it's a no brainer as an adsl connection would peak at 1.5mb.

Virgin give me 10mb quite reasonably priced too, and I could get 50mb if I wanted.

Please dont taunt me with your cable lol If i could get cable I would get it but I cant...:(

I think ill be either going with be or 02. Still dont know which is better...

I may get flamed but I am with sky and find them very good indeed. On their mid package (upto 8mb) I constantly get between 6 & 7 mb with no disconnection or "busy time" issues !

Why would you want Virgin cable o2/be offer better alround service and do help customers when they have trouble not try and blame customers PC or screw up billing and don't care.

What do you really want from your service they both are the same company but offer different pricing and packages.

I'm gonna rock the boat here and say not Virgin Media. I've had nothing but trouble from them and if they weren't the only ISP I could use then I'd be away like a shot.

I left Virgin ages ago once they started throttling connections at peak times and hammering you for downloading 2.5mb between 6pm & 10pm.

Then went to UKFSN who were great, solid stable connection and low pings.

Sky then enabled my exchange about 18 months ago and I tentatively made the switch. Could not be happier to be honest.

£10pm, I get around 14mb d/l at all times of the day. Ping times are fine for me.

My usage is around 200gb p/m, of which the bulk is uploading and downloading large files to and from work. Not one complaint yet.

Last December we did a deployment for a new customer and my usage peaked at 395gb. I rang them to ask if this was a problem. The answer was simply 'no'.

They aint perfect & there are better out there but for £10pm, who can compete?

It's funny people mentioning virgin I just got a bill from them and i'm not even subscribed to them whats that about?

Sky llu and o2/be appear to be the best around at the moment heard so many people praising them.
