Can anyone recommend me a popup blocker? I only use firefox and i'm not really after any of the other features of the toolbars I see so much of (search, spell-check, that sort of stuff) though if there's no way of escaping that then it's not the end of the world. Thanks!

Are you using the built-in pop-up blocker in Firefox? That and Adblock Plus seem to do alright for me. I've set FF to not allow any pop-ups at all so I have to manually allow sites where the pop-ups are useful.

Thanks for that. I do have FF pop-up blocker on but tbh it's poor at best. I'll give AdBlock Plus a go, it seems the more light-weight of the two. :)

Sorry about the FF pop-up blocker. Give Adblock Plus a go but get the Filterset.G pack as well. :)

How do i get the Filterset.G pack? It's not in the list in preferences, i'm using easylist atm.

You don't need the Filterset.G Updater as Adblock Plus has built in subscription which auto updates itself. For more information, there's a section about Filterset.G Updater in the Adblock Plus FAQ here.

I recommend using the EasyList and EasyElement subscriptions :)

I've got rid of Filterset.G. I've subscribed to both lists. I restarted Firefox but when I go on a site I use regularly there is an ad banner there that I didn't see before. Any ideas why? Is it that its not on the list? I just clicked on the two links and clicked OK. Is that how you're meant to subscribe?

Just right click on the banner and click Adblock Image... (if it's an image) :)

Forgot to say, that is how you subscribe to subscriptions, I've just noticed that you can subscribe to EasyElement+EasyList subscription without having to subscribe to two seperate subscriptions on the same page as I linked before :p

I can't see it. Doesn't matter now. I subscribed to the EasyElement list then the EasyList.
